NOMINOU, CANADIAN WEARABLE ARTS INITIATIVE,  ACQUIRES ECO-ACTIVEWEAR INNER FIRE

Canadian-Based Athleisure Company Expands Its Sustainable Activewear Offerings

Vancouver, October 1st, 2019 - Sustainable activewear company NoMiNoU is thrilled to announce its acquisition of Inner Fire, a fellow Canadian and female-owned eco-conscious activewear brand based in New Westminster, British Columbia. Inner Fire, established in 2012, has become internationally renowned for its unique combination of witty t-shirts, designs inspired by nature, and innovative, eco-friendly materials incorporating BPA-free recycled water bottles and water-based inks. The company will continue to operate as a stand alone brand under the umbrella of NoMiNoU. The acquisition will allow NoMiNoU to continue to celebrate diversity through its collection of environmentally sustainable, globally-inspired designs.

“NoMiNoU was created to encourage the wearer to embrace his or her unique origins. My mother valued traditional elements from all global aboriginal sources, and as an artist designed with inclusion and acceptance in mind, “ says the brand’s owner, Jullianna Charlton. “I wanted to incorporate her designs into our offerings, and as the brand has grown we have incorporated designs by indigenous Canadian and international artists from around the world. The people of the planet are who we design for, and now with Inner Fire we can support Mother Earth and her people even more.”

A fusion of the name of Charlton’s mother, Naomi, and the phrase “No Me, No You”, NoMiNoU aims to uplift women in their everyday lives and help them to feel beautiful in their own essence. What started as a personal journey of self-awareness has evolved into a collaborative endeavour that celebrates every woman’s individuality and the acceptance of her origins. Each item is designed to make women stand proud in their individualism. “What excites me about this in addition to the environmental impact, is how our two brands have united to promote values that are aligned,” continues Charlton. “Inner Fire built its brand through nurturing a supportive community, and together our goal is to empower women, love ourselves, and love the planet.”

Both NoMiNoU and Inner Fire products can be found across North America at independent retailers, and online at www.myinnerfire.com and www.nomidesigns.ca.
