Do you remember when being on TV was the coolest thing that could happen to you? You’d have friends call you up and say “I just saw you on TV!” Well, even though no one really watches TV anymore, it was really awesome to see my company featured on a real TV show yesterday! It’s my first piece of real press! Wooowooot!!
My good friend Johanna Ward, who is the host of local Vancouver TV show The Express, approached me a couple weeks ago about a segment they were doing about yoga. I was over the moon! So we shot a few clips of me sewing and screenprinting in my home workshop. Then we went outside on the most gorgeous of days to do some yoga. Johanna is a Dancefit instructor at the YWCA and the queen of feel-good booty shaking. She thought it would be cool to do some hip hop-inspired yoga for the segment because I had taught a feature class at the YWCA a few months ago. I originally picked up a few moves from a hip-hop yoga teacher named Philly D last year and incorporated some of his moves into my own style. I also just want to say that I don’t want to take credit for the “Worm Vini” because that is totally Philly’s move! Hip hop yoga is so much fun! It was such an awesome day!

It’s really important that we fuel our bodies the right way and boost our mood and energy naturally instead of turning to caffeine and sugar-filled snacks. While they might give you a temporary hit, they won’t do your body any good in the long run; they will only slow you down and leave you even more tired!
